Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and StudyScript ("StudyScript," "we," "us"). They cover the StudyScript app and studyscript.app. By using StudyScript or paying for it, you agree to them. If you're paying for someone else's subscription, the parts about payment apply to you, and the rest apply to the person using the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

1. What StudyScript is

StudyScript is a planning tool. It reads syllabi you provide, builds a study plan and helps you keep track of your classes. It doesn't do your homework or write papers, and it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any college or university.

2. Check the important dates

StudyScript uses AI and automatic tools to read syllabi and school calendars, and they can make mistakes. It flags items it isn't sure about, but your syllabus, your instructor and your school are always the final word on due dates, exam times, weights and policies. You're responsible for your own deadlines and coursework. StudyScript isn't responsible for missed deadlines, late penalties or grades.

3. Subscriptions

• Price: $9.99 per month (plus any tax), billed monthly until canceled. The price is the same whether you or someone else pays. If the price ever changes, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies only from your next billing period.
• Paid in the app: Apple bills your Apple account, and Apple's terms apply. Cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple.
• Paid on the web (for example, by a parent): the subscription is billed by Stripe through RevenueCat. Cancel anytime using the "Manage subscription" link in your receipt email.
• Canceling: you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. No cancellation fee.
• Web refunds: if you were charged by mistake, email us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it. Otherwise payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires.

4. Using StudyScript fairly

• Only upload syllabi and files you're allowed to use for your own classes.
• Be respectful in group projects and study sessions. Don't post anything harassing, hateful, misleading or illegal, or anything that shares someone else's private information.
• Don't try to break, overload, copy or reverse-engineer StudyScript, or use it to get around your school's academic integrity rules.

We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

5. The shared class library

When you add a syllabus, the deadlines and course details StudyScript extracts from it (not the document itself) go into a shared library, so classmates in the same class can get them instantly. You let us use that extracted information this way. It isn't linked to you.

6. Your stuff and ours

Your plan and what you enter stay yours. StudyScript's app, design, name and content are ours. Don't copy them without permission.

7. Other services

StudyScript works with services we don't control, like your school's websites and calendars, Apple, Stripe and RevenueCat. Their own terms apply to them, and we're not responsible for what they do or for their outages.

8. No guarantees

We work hard to keep StudyScript accurate and running, but it's provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We can't promise it will be error-free or always available.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, StudyScript isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost grades, scholarships or opportunities). Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for StudyScript in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for big changes, let you know in the app. You can stop using StudyScript anytime. We may change or stop parts of StudyScript. If we shut it down, we'll give notice and stop billing.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
